unnamed-2Getting there:

The best way to reach Mochlos is to fly or take a ferry to Heraklion. You can reach Crete via Sitia or Hania, but Heraklion is the closest to where we will be.

You can:

– Fly to Athens and then take a 40 minute flight to Heraklion via Aegian Air

– Fly to Athens and take a ferry to Heraklion

– Fly to Europe and then direct to Heraklion or other airports in Crete

Car Rental:

You will want to rent a car from Heraklion so that you can explore the island. We worked with sweet Dimitria at www.economyrentacar.gr and she can help you arrange your rental – they will even pick you up at the ferry or airport. Once you choose your car, email her at dimitratravel@hotmail.com. Don’t forget to tell her that you’re with us, she’ll hook it up.

Exploring Other Islands:

Crete is the most southern of the Greek Islands. In between Athens and Crete are the incredibly beautiful Cyclades Island group. Beyond Crete, last summer we explored Siphnos, Milos, and Santorini. Siphnos was our absolute favorite and we cannot recommend it more. This is a resort town at it’s best…extraordinarily beautiful, stylish, and not over crowded. Milos isn’t quite as charming but the beaches (74!) are absolutely stunning…also known as the home of the Venus de Milo. Santorini is well, Santorini and it is quite remarkable. The only problem is that everyone else in the world knows that it’s amazing and you will have to deal with them while you’re there. Is it worth seeing? Probably, but don’t stay too long! We’ve heard really wonderful things about Folegandros and may explore after the wedding. Without a doubt you are in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. We’re excited to hear where you end up!
